MH 370

Kuala Lumpur, 2.15am, March 8, 'Goodnight, Malaysian 370'

Indian Ocean...? am, March 8

I am sure that many of you in Malaysia will be saddened by the news; but, in the opinion of Canadian pilot Chris Goodfellow, the two pilots did a good job, but ran out of time...

I am not sure what to write tonight, but our thoughts go out to the family members, also to the people taking care of them.

My husband is going to light a candle at the rear for them.

It is the second time in a few days, I am thinking

RIP to the flight's cabin and technical crew.

1. Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah (tech crew) Malaysia

2. Co-pilot Fariq Ab Hamid (tech crew) Malaysia

3. Patrick Francis Gomes Malaysia

4. Chief Cabin Crew Andrew Nari Malaysia

5. Goh Sock Lay Malaysia

6. Tan Ser Kuin Malaysia

7. Wan Swaid Wan Ismail Malaysia

8. Junaidi Mohd Kassim Malaysia

The market is going up.

For example, a detached, 4 bedroom bungalow, single storey, good area, is about 450,000 RM. People think you can get it for half the price; no way.

to quote the Latin language, or husband, 'caveat emptor' = buyer, beware...

Mrs Josephine Gomes 19-- - 2014

In February, a friend of mine passed away. I am very sad to write this, because the woman was kind to me and kind to many other people too, here in Dungun. Her name was Mrs Josephine Gomes, and she had a house near my place here. I think everyone liked her and had a lot of respect for her. When she spoke, she quiet, not once did she get angry. I knew her when I was about 10 years of age, and she was close to my mother. I think of her as a special person to me, and I know there are many here that think in the same way.

In the evening when we knew what happened, my husband lit a candle, in the rear without lights on, in memory of her, and the kindness she gave to my family and to me.

I want to get a photograph of her, and some information about her from her family, but a few weeks back was not the time to ask them. I want people to know a little about a gentle, kind, good woman, one genuine in her religious belief. I am happy to have had the pleasure of knowing her, one of the nicest women I have known here.

When she passed away, her house was full of flowers and people of all races and religion came to pay their respect; that is most unusual in Dungun.  RIP

Political Malaysia 101

Right, I told you that the general election is coming, so we have alot to do, many meetings, trying to get people interested etc. I am going to tell you about what happens here.

Malaysia is a constitutional monarchy, like a number of European countries, with a king, but...the King, or the Agong, is chosen from among the other kings in the country once every few years; they, the kings, choose one of their own to be the King of Malaysia. I think this is unique to Malaysia. But...not every negeri has a king; here in Terengganu, we do; so does Kelantan, up the road from here, and Pahang, down the road from here. Malacca and Penang though don't have a king. I think there are eight kings in the country.

Okay, now every negeri is made up of a number of daerah, a district Each district chooses an MP to go to the Parliament building in Kuala Lumpur. Here in Terengganu, we have, running south to north: Kemaman, Dungun, Marang, Kuala Terengganu, Setiu, Besut and Hu
